Callide Energy has failed in a courtroom bid to block the sale its partner’s interest in the joint venture for the construction and operation of Queensland’s Callide power station.

An arrangement to restructure Queensland labour hire services company Comlek has survived a challenge by the state’s revenue office, which wanted the business wound up, claiming the restructure was against public interest and commercial morality.

A judge has refused to summarily dismiss proceedings by collapsed construction group JM Kelly against its former accountant, finding it was an issue for trial whether he caused the company to continue operating despite financial issues leading to its liquidation.
