Businessman Clive Palmer has lost an application to put a stop to a trial in a case brought by the liquidators of collapsed Queensland Nickel after arguing the proceeding was continuing largely to pay the litigation funder bankrolling the case.
Mining magnate Clive Palmer says he feels “vindicated” after reaching a multimillion dollar settlement that resolves the majority of claims brought against him following the $200 million collapse of his company Queensland Nickel in 2016.
A Queensland Supreme Court judge has given the green light for a $30 million settlement of a liquidator’s case against failed financial services firm LM Investment Management, saying the result was appropriate and “a matter of some public interest”.
