A judge has dismissed an application by an Australian-Chinese law firm for access to documents from a competitor — including addresses of clients —  in a case alleging its rival published a defamatory message on the WeChat network.

Mark Latham’s defamation defence the ‘antithesis of a pleading’, judge says

A judge on Thursday struck out former Prime Minister Mark Latham’s defence in a defamation case filed against him by the political editor of pop culture site Junkee, calling it an “extraordinary document” and the “antithesis of a pleading”.
