Mosaic Brands has taken the Australian Communications and Media Authority to court, alleging a request for documents based on suspected Spam Act violations is invalid.

Supermarket giant Woolworths has been hit with a $1 million infringement notice from the Australian Communications and Media Authority for what the regulator called “significant breaches” of spam laws.

Optus has paid a record $504,000 fine for violating spam laws by sending SMS and email messages to customers that had previously unsubscribed from the telco’s giant’s marketing communications.
